Temptations’ big 7 epilogue : Ulcers, Divorce, Alcohol, Fornication, Debt, Idol-Worship

I am laying in sofa and thinking of the best way to say how to wash and get out of the wallow. I believe confrontation is the best. Quietly presenting what things are and how they end up and what is the path to take to get and stay clean.

Addiction is the child of idol-worship and self-will

Unrolling that skein  might ask you to go back deep into your past, into the history of your parents and their parents. What’s their relationship with God ? And if you are already down in the pit, you may devise the plan to sever yourself from the relationships, which have gotten you to the addiction hole. Out of all the cases of struggle to get clean, I only remember one success of ex-policeman father, who went after the supply network that sold drugs to his son, confronted each supplier and ordered them to go away and leave his son alone. It is completely biblical:

“when I send against you the deadly arrows of famine, arrows for destruction, which I will send to destroy you, and when I bring more and more famine upon you and break your supply of bread. ” (Ezekiel 5,16 ESV)

Then, once that is done, you may repent

“Then lie on your left side, and place the punishment of the house of Israel upon it. For the number of the days that you lie on it, you shall bear their punishment. ” (Ezekiel 4,4 ESV)

Once you decide to cut yourself off the oppression, here is one way God can help you:

“And I heard a loud voice in heaven, saying, ‘Now the salvation and the power and the kingdom of our God and the authority of his Christ have come, for the accuser of our brothers has been thrown down, who accuses them day and night before our God. ‘” (Revelation 12,10 ESV)

Some rationality is able to support you in all that emotional struggle

“For wherever your house is unkempt, there the birds of prey will gather” (Matthew 24,28 DEV)

And after you distinguish between the holy and the common, and between the unclean and the clean (Leviticus 10,10) God will sprinkle clean water on you, and you shall be clean from all your uncleannesses, and from all your idols He will cleanse you. (Ezekiel 36,25) so that Your prayers and your alms ascend as a memorial before God. (Acts 10,4)

Then you boldly take from your best sacrifice a handful of the fine flour and oil, with all of its frankincense, and have Christ the priest burn it as memorial portion on the altar, a food offering with a pleasing aroma to the Lord. (Leviticus 2,9)

Upon setting up the prayer and sacrifice and cleansing by the blood of Jesus in your life, then you shall describe the land in seven divisions and bring the description to your God. (Joshua 18,6)

With all that past behind you, and new battles before you, you can now hear

“Fear not, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by name, you are mine. ” (Isaiah 43,1)

In order to keep that success up, the book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do according to all that is written in it. (Joshua 1,8)

All that because you got to know your God: “I know that you can do all things, and that no purpose of yours can be thwarted.” (Job 42,2)

What else do you need ?
